Our Adoption Process
-
Step 1: Adoption Application
Please start by filling out our application linked at the bottom of this page! This will give us more information about you as well as your other pets at home. Please be as honest as possible!
We do not allow dogs to be adopted as gifts and the main caretaker MUST be an adult over 21.
We do allow apartments with proof of pet policy! This may also include a copy of a valid ESA letter. Some dogs may not do well in an apartment, but many do! Our main priority is the animal’s happiness in their home. We do not allow pre-adoption puppies to go to apartments due to vaccination status.

What's Next?
After your application is submitted, our adoption processing team will review your application, perform a background check through Truthfinder, and approve or deny your application. Some applicants may be approved by our organization, but may not be suited for the dog you are applying to adopt.
Your application will then be sent to the foster home. Our fosters have the freedom to choose to move forward with any application. With high amounts of applications, we will notify you if you’ve been selected within 48 hours.
If your application is approved, our foster will contact you to set up a meet and greet and/or a home trial. Unfortunately due to high application volume, we cannot inform all applicants automatically, but we’re happy to answer any questions over email, messenger, or text. We also highly recommend signing up to foster, as fosters get first choice at adoption!

Step 2: Phone Interview
Don’t stress! If your application and background check has been approved by our rescue and selected by our foster, you will be contacted by the foster or an Ace’s Place representative. This just gives us the opportunity to know you better and is a great time to ask questions and learn more about the dog with the foster who knows them best!
-
Step 3: Meet & Greet and Home Trial
After the interview process, if would like to proceed, the foster will help you schedule a meet and greet with your potential new family member! If you would like to proceed the the adoption process, we will move forward with our one-week home trial. You have between 3 to 7 days to determine if you would like to finalize your adoption. The foster or team member will check in during this time to address any concerns or questions you may have
This gives you a risk-free opportunity to make sure our pet is right for your home! If any allergies arise, behavioral issues, or animals not getting along, simply call us and we’ll come get them.

Adoption Finalization
At the end of your home trial, your adoption contract will be emailed to you through Docusign. This includes an agreement to not perform any cosmetic alterations, never surrender your pet to the shelter, spay/neuter clause if applicable, and a waiver of liability.
Once your contract has been signed and submitted, the assigned adoption fee is to be paid via PayPal or Zelle.
Once we receive a signed contract and payment, your adoption is officially finalized and we will email and mail your pet’s records within 24 hours.
If for any reason you are unable to care for your pet, they must be returned to Ace’s Place All Dog Rescue and may not be rehomed without authorization.
Puppies too young to be fixed while at APADR are required to be fixed before 8 months of age. You may choose to use our vet located in Garland, TX, included in your adoption, or you may choose to use your own vet and proof must be submitted.
