Mazie's Mission Heartworm Treatment Shelter Program
*For recently adopted shelter pets
Through our Heartworm Treatment Shelter Program we offer potential adopters one more reason to choose a shelter pet. As a 501(c)(3) organization, we are not open to the public and can not provide additional services. Please contact your regular vet unless you adopted from a shelter within the last 90 days.
We require a $40 heartworm consult with 30 days of doxycycline (performed at Mazie’s Mission), along with a minimum of 6 months of heartworm prevention purchased through your veterinarian before treatment can proceed. In the event your pet is 7 years old (or greater) or is symptomatic for heartworm disease, bloodwork and radiographs will likely be required before the treatment can be performed.
